Dean Karnazes to Run Across the U.S. in 3 Days?

I've found a way for D.K. (or any ultrarunner) to run across the US in just three consecutive days. It would involve buying a vintage airport baggage loading vehicle and having your crew drive it, while running on the conveyor belt.

This could open up a whole new ultrarunning class. NASCAR might even get involved. There could be a completely different version of the Daytona 500 viewed on Fox or ESPN 12.

Whad'ya think?

Actually, I'm sick of all of the DK talk on the Ultralistserv, and just wanted to have some fun.

Happy trails,
Bad Ben

Oh good gawd I am glad someone else is sick about the DK thing! I'm about ready to post my race report on the Ultra list to just give them something else to read! It's also spilled over to the Ultra/Trail Forum on coolrunning.com!!!

It amazes me that with all the intelligent people on the ultra list they simply can't get off that topic. I stopped reading any e-mails with the initials DK in the subject line a long time ago. Of course I read yours today, but your subject made it sound much more interesting.

I think you are on to something with that plane thing.

Can't someone just post, "Get a life already"???? They wouldn't listen anyways.

The DK thing at least keeps them from talking politics or religion. Those two subjects have almost killed the list, in the past.

I used to subscribe to the Ultralist and I was always amazed at how much time some of its members spend on writing responses to every single post ever generated by anyone. If you write lengthy responses to 40-50 posts every single day, it makes me wonder what kinds of jobs do these people have?

It's obvious. They are Government Officials. (Probably FEMA).

They don't have jobs. They are retired. And bored out of their minds. And use the list as a means to keep up with past freinds - but not in a way "what's happening", rather "I am here". There were more reports when I joined in - and it was only 3 years ago. Now, people rarely post - I know i feel awkward, because reports get burried and never get response, but issues over Dean and Pam or bra problem or new technical gadgets are overwhelming. Sad. Shoe review at least is still something related.
Oh, well. There is always a "no mail" temporary option or "delete" key.
