Sub-Zero WyCo Run

Me, on the WyCo Triangle section of trail...bundled-up to the max.

Six of us ran Sunday in the nine-below-zero weather at WyCo Lake Park. The windchill was minus-20.

Jim and I ran about 12 miles with some extra bushwhacking: following the cougar tracks that were following the deer tracks (for fun).

Kyle and Caleb did some Super Speedy Nerd Mileage and hill repeats.

Beth and (newbie) Brett did a Turtle out-and-back.

It was a beautiful morning.

Happy trails,
Bad Ben

  1. Doug wants to know if the seed ticks have died? :)

  2. They haven't died...they just hide-out over the Winter, because they don't make parkas that small...or they'd probably be out there.

  3. Your definition of beautiful and my definition are two different things! :) In all seriousness, I do like to run in the snow too - but I do have to draw the line when it is below 0! I went for a 8mi in OPKS on Sat and the sweat froze on my headphones!

  4. At least the headphones didn't freeze to your ears!

  5. I only had a few subzero runs during my short stay in Kansas, but I remember I didn't care for them much.

But after seeing the weather there recently and reading your post, I would be right there freezing my ARSE off running with you.

    Have fun!
